The only thing Avery Hood can remember about the night her parents died is that she saw silver—deadly silver, moving inhumanly fast. As much as she wants to remember who killed them, she can't, and there's nothing left to do but try to piece her life back together. Then Avery meets the new boy in school—Ben, mysterious and beautiful, with whom she feels a connection like nothing she's ever experienced. When Ben reveals he's a werewolf, Avery still trusts him—at first. Then she sees that sometimes his eyes flash inhuman silver. And she learns that she's not the only one who can't remember the night her parents died.

Summary from Amazon.com

Low Red Moon wasn’t your run of the mill wolf book, but despite the original story-line the novel just didn’t deliver.

Devlin does a great a job depicting Avery’s heartbreak and confusion after her parent’s murder. But other than that Avery was a pretty boring character... she was flat and uninteresting.

The romance between Ben and Avery had no development. Sure they were drawn to each other... and shared some smoldering looks... but so what? There wasn’t a “getting to know you” phase... or even a “i like you” phase... just a “we’re connected on this deep level and therefore must be with each other.” Even though the entire time Avery can’t leave him alone, Ben insists that she leave for her own good, stay away, i don’t want you to get hurt. Boring...

The plot was a little choppy... there just wasn’t a nice flow. I had to stop reading and reread some of the passages which isn’t something that I normally have to do. There were points that didn’t seem line up... but perhaps that was just me.

I did however like the ending. Action and resolution.

With all the exceptionally well written paranormal novels out there... you might want to pick one of those up instead.
