Will Elise’s love life be an epic win or an epic fail?

At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Case in point:

As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school—not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.

As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn’t exactly on everyone’s must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.

When Elise’s beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince’s best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.

Epic Fail is a seriously cute book! I had so much fun reading it! I wanted something that was light and fun that would make me feel warm and fuzzy inside and Epic Fail did just that.

If it wasn't apparent from the summary, Epic Fail is a modern retelling of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Lazebnik does an excellent job updating the story and making it her own. I love reading retellings! And Pride and Prejudice seems to have a lot of them!

Instead of the original setting, Epic Fail takes place at a private school. Instead of Mr. Darcy, we have the mysteriously hot Derek! And Elise makes a wonderful Elizabeth Bennett... spunky and fun! All the character's were great.. and oh goodness Layla... I think might just be one of the most annoying character's I have ever encountered! Together all the elements work really well!

If you're looking for a fun summer read to get in before school starts back, this would be a great book for you!! Fun, cute and quick!
