The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion

The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion by L.J. Smith

This review is a bit of a spoiler if you haven’t read the first two books. I tried not to give much away, but some of the parts are very significant to the plot, so I couldn’t exactly leave them out and write an accurate review. So if you would rather not know what happens at the end of The Struggle, then don’t read this review. Just know that I really enjoyed the rest of the series, even though the ending of Dark Reunion totally leaves the story open! It was a thrilling series and I wish there was more. I definitely recommend it! By the end of the story I was enthralled with Damon just as much as I was Stefan. I loved reading about these characters and seeing them change throughout the series. I want more! And I don’t have to fret and neither do you! L.J. Smith is working on another book in the Vampire Diaries Series! Yay! I don’t have much info on it, but it is entitled The Vampire Diaries: Damon! I know a story about my favorite bad boy vampire! How exciting! I’m not sure when it is going to be released but until then make sure you check out the first four books!

The Fury

Elena wakes up from her drowning only to realize that she didn’t exactly wake up the same. Not only does she not remember Stefan, instead of being dead, she’s a vampire. A completely irrational vampire. So irrational that she tries to kill Stefan and nearly succeeds, but luckily Damon was there to stop it. Yes, Damon stopped it, surprised!? I was, but there seems to be more to Damon. Once Elena has her first meal, compliments of Matt, and four days of rest, she remembers almost everything that happened, including her love for Stefan.

Stefan is furious that Elena is a vampire, he never wanted this life for her. Stefan accuses Damon of killing Elena but he insists that he is innocent. When Elena reaffirms that is was not Damon that killed her, the three stumble upon the discovery of another "Power." The Power that killed Elena and has been causing the disturbances in Fell’s Church.

Now the three vampires must fight together to destroy the Power and save Fell’s Church. When they finally are faced with the Power, they are all surprised that it is something/one that they are all familiar with. And in the end one of them must sacrifice their self to save the rest.

Dark Reunion

Elena is dead, and Stefan and Damon are gone. Everything in Fell’s Church is back to normal, but not for long. At a birthday party for Meredith a game of Ouija goes terribly wrong, and one of the girls ends up dead.

Bonnie is able to contact Elena through her dreams, but the messages are often distorted and unclear. With Meredith’s help they figure out the message, they need to get help. They have to contact Stefan. Stefan returns to Fell’s Church along with Damon, only to find that their departure didn’t rid the town of evil.

Stefan discovers the new evil through one of Bonnie’s vision. Although he has never met him, Stefan is more than familiar with Klaus, the vampire that changed Katherine. Klaus isn’t alone he has a henchman that they all know. Tyler with his mouth full of teeth and his animalistic grin, if only the girls knew how close their snide remarks were to the truth.

It is up to Stefan, Matt, Meredith and Bonnie to stop Klaus. When he kidnaps Caroline, they have to other choice but to fight. But they are no-match for Klaus and his immaculate power. If only they had some help from the grave.
