BBAW Nominations

Since the slew of emails for the BBAW nominations have been sent out, I've seen a few blog posts around. I was informed by email that The Story was nominated for not one, but TEN BBAW awards.

I was absolutely blown away. I had two emails arrive on the first day, and didn't have any additional ones for awhile, of course I assumed I had been nominated for two and I thought that was fantastic! But then... they just kept coming, and coming! I work really hard on my blog, I love every minute of it, and it's nice to know that so many people appreciate that! I'm not sure who nominated me... (okay so I might have nominated myself for best YA blog... but you had to have at least three nominations, so at least two other people nominated me too!) but THANK YOU so very much! I'm in awe, really I am.

Here are the categories that TSS was nominated for:

Most Concise: This blog gets its point across clearly and efficiently - it tells you just what you need to know.
Best Writing: It’s not just what they say, it’s how they say it. This blog is almost as enjoyable to read as the books (and anything else) it talks about.
Best Reviews: Book reviews are the heart and soul of book blogging, and this blog is the cream of the crop - consistently well-written, entertaining and informative reviews are a staple on this blog.
Most Eclectic Taste Blog: This blog stands out because of its uniqueness - you never know what you’re going to get, but it’s always something surprising and new.
Best YA Blog: This blog covers primarily young adult books. They have great reviews and recommendations.
Most Extravagant Giveaways: You wonder how the blogger comes up with such fantastic giveaways! You want to win these giveaways, and you also wish you’d thought of these great giveaways for your own blog.
Best Series or Feature: This series or feature is the one thing you always read on another blog. You may or may not participate in it, but you think it’s a great idea and love reading the posts on this series or feature.
Best General Review Blog: This blog doesn’t specialize in any one book genre, but it’s still excellent. Their book reviews usually cause you to add one more book to the TBR pile.
Most Chatty: This blogger has a very “chatty” style. You feel like you could be sitting together, sipping wine, and chatting about life.
Best Special Interest Blog: Cookbooks? Baseball history? Books written by people who have never been on a plane? This blog’s content is so specialized they are one of a kind…but their reviews really rock.

Some of the nominations don't really fit my blog very well, so most likely I'll be opting out some of the categories. I was floored by some of the nominations, especially best writing and reviews! I know some awesome bloggers that should have been nominated over me! I guess someone sees what I don't. Again, I want to thank everyone for their support. I honestly am not expecting to win anything, yes it would be spectacular, but there are so many awesome blogs out there! Last year I was nominated and didn't win, but it was an awesome experience! And really that's all that matters.

And CONGRATULATIONS to everyone else that was nominated! It was so exciting to see everyone receiving their nominations! I'm so happy for you all!

I have to send in five blog posts each that represent the categories I was nominated for... if anyone has any suggestions I would TRULY appreciate it! I'll be working on it tonight, so please feel free to leave some!

All the nominations are closed and it's up to a panel of judges to sort through all the nominations and the blog posts. Once they have the top five the shortlist will be announced and voting will open on September 7!
